- ➤ Mesa resident Beau Jent had his mother's ashes returned after a funeral home mistakenly released them to an unidentified man. Local news coverage prompted police action and a state complaint while the funeral home reviews its procedures (aiming to prevent future mix-ups). 12 News

- ➤ The Phoenix-based nut and seed bar, The Best Bar, is now available at AJ's Fine Foods in Mesa (as well as in 10 other locations) offering four flavors made with real ingredients such as raw honey and nuts. - ➤ The Arizona Department of Health Services reported over 900 whooping cough cases in 2025, the highest in 12 years. Pediatric doctor Dr. Reina Patel warned parents to watch for lasting symptoms in infants (especially those under 6 months) and urged vaccination to limit spread. KJZZ
- ➤ A recent survey by the National Council on Aging found that 71% of older adults face affordability issues with healthy foods because many live on fixed incomes.
