- ➤ Mesa’s first full-service library in 30 years opened Monday, Dec. 8, at Gateway Library on the edge of Eastmark’s Great Park, featuring a 28,000-square-foot space with a makerspace, teen lounge, sensory room, and outdoor event areas designed for diverse community needs. The Mesa Tribune

- ➤ A historical report details how two Arizona tribal reservations were chosen during WWII to detain Japanese Americans following Pearl Harbor, a move that repurposed tribal lands without full tribal consent. Researchers say the decision aimed to use detainees for labor and boost local infrastructure. KJZZ
- ➤ Mesa City Council voted 6-0 on Nov. 17 to recommend a new series 12 restaurant license for Mesa Drummer, which serves lunch and dinner, and the application will go to the Arizona Department of Liquor License and Control for review for Tree Top Construction LLC at 1211 N.
