- ➤ On Dec. 13, Mariposa Gardens Memorial at 400 S. Power Road and Mountain View Cemetery at 7900 E. Main St will host Wreaths Across America ceremonies starting at 10 a.m., and community members can sponsor $17 wreaths donating $5 to help local veterans while youth aged 7 to 14 volunteer. - ➤ Mesa is opening the new Gateway library branch on Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 5036 South Eastmark Parkway; the modern facility includes storytimes, new tech like Pixel Paseo, a sensory room, and outdoor hold lockers * its award-winning design builds on 30 years of library tradition. 12 News

- ➤ China Airlines now offers nonstop flights from Sky Harbor to Taipei. The first flight took off Wednesday and the service will run three days a week (Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays), with a 15-hour 20-minute journey to Taoyuan International Airport. KJZZ

- ➤ Mesa will host its first-ever LEGO convention at the Mesa Convention Center on May 30-31, 2026, where professional LEGO artists will display builds and engage fans in interactive zones including a Star Wars area; ticket sales ($14.99 per day) will benefit Creations for Charity. ABC15 Arizona

- ➤ Federal officials warn that SNAP funding may be withheld from Arizona as soon as Dec. 8 if detailed program data is not provided. Gov. Katie Hobbs vowed to fight the move amid concerns a legal dispute over data could limit food support for more than 800,000 Arizonans. 12 News

- ➤ Fromm Family Foods recalled 300 cases of Bonnihill Farms BeefiBowls Beef Recipe frozen dog food (lot code B01) sold across 14 states including Mesa after consumer complaints revealed plastic contamination that may cause vomiting and stomach discomfort.
