- ➤ Mesa invites residents to celebrate the grand opening of the new Gateway Library on Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 5036 S. Eastmark Parkway; the state-of-the-art 28,000-square-foot facility (Mesa’s first new full-service library in 30 years) offers makerspace, a sensory room and outdoor reading areas, with live music and family activities planned during the event. - ➤ TikTok videos claimed people have a 'razor blade throat virus,' but doctors explained the illness is adenovirus, a common virus that causes a worse cold with a severe sore throat. Dr. Natasha Bhuyan warned that more respiratory viruses may increase soon—residents should wash hands and rest while monitoring their symptoms. 12 News
- ➤ Great Lakes Cheese Co. has recalled over 260,000 cases of shredded cheese sold in 31 states — including in Mesa— due to possible metal fragments that may cause choking. The FDA upgraded the recall on Dec. 1 and advises consumers to check items with sell-by dates from January to March 2026 and return them for a refund. 12 News
