- ➤ ASU professor Chris Wharton advised Mesa households to reduce food waste this holiday season by using freezers for leftovers and sharing extra food with doggy bags. He noted that a typical family of four wastes about $3000 a year—small changes can help save money and food. KJZZ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Arizona Department of Transportation issued three new specialty license plates that help raise funds for charities as buyers pay about $25 a year with $17 supporting a designated nonprofit. The new plates—Ovarian Cancer Awareness, Phoenix Mercury, and Verde Valley Wine Trail—join existing options to bring the total to 109. KJZZ
- ➤ Mesa City Council voted unanimously on Nov. 3 to recommend a series 10 beer and wine store license for Zong Smoke Shop to the Arizona Department of Liquor License and Control.
