- ➤ Downtown Mesa will celebrate the holidays with the return of Merry Main Street for its 11th consecutive year—festivities begin November 28th at 5 p.m. with holiday music marking the start of the seasonal celebration. Mesa Independent
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Mesa City Council approved a deal to form a theme park district at the 80-acre Fiesta Mall site so Sunny Day Sports can buy the land from Ernest Garcia II and develop mixed-use spaces with a multiuse stadium that may host an MLS or women’s soccer team + the plan will move forward under special tax rules. The decision was made in a short 12-minute meeting held just before Thanksgiving. 12 News

- ➤ Arizona Humane Society veterinarian Dr. Mindy Bemmerl advised Mesa pet owners to avoid feeding pets holiday foods like fatty turkey, ham, foods with garlic or onions, grapes, and bones that can cause severe stomach problems. She urged owners to check local vet hours and emergency clinic availability for quick care — extra caution is needed during the holidays. KJZZ
- ➤ Mesa-based Oakwood Creative Care opened its fifth care center in Chandler with a $2 million grant, adding services like an Adult Day Club, caregiver workshops and a wellness clinic—key for supporting local families.
