- ➤ Downtown Mesa will host the East Valley Veterans Parade on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, to honor 250 years of service with an Iwo Jima hero serving as grand marshal—veteran service groups such as the Distinguished Flying Cross Society and Bob’s Garage will also join the event. The Mesa Tribune
- ➤ Dr. Carl Forkner, a 67-year-old Mesa resident and retired Navy lieutenant colonel, will serve as grand marshal in the Phoenix Veterans Day Parade tomorrow—honoring his 28.5 years of Navy service—and was inducted into the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame last month.
