- ➤ Maricopa County had more than 7,500 eviction filings in October — one of the busiest months on record, and a Justice Court spokesperson said if the trend holds, the year could reach 84,000 filings with an average tenant judgment of over $3,100. - ➤ Arizona schools face a severe teacher shortage after over 1,000 teachers quit in four months, and State Schools Chief Tom Horne proposed a $10,000 pay raise per teacher—potentially costing $750 million—to help address the crisis.
