BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community is asking for interest in turning a gravel lot by the Salt River near Loops 101 and 202 in Mesa into a new commercial project that may replace the 25-year-old Casino Arizona and add jobs. The early-stage proposal includes plans for a new casino, commercial space, and road realignment, and a walkthrough at the end of November will provide more details—further steps remain pending. 12 News
- ➤ Yesterday, Salt River Project announced that it will convert its portion of the Springerville generating station from coal to natural gas at a cost of $60 million—its second coal-to-gas move after converting units at Coronado Generating Station and following a similar plan by Tucson Electric Power.
