GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • An ASU professor is testing AI tools that find cooler routes by detecting shade on sidewalks and bike paths—he also created a model that predicts how shadows move to aid local urban planning. His projects will help city teams decide where to add shade for safer pedestrian routes in the heat.  KJZZ

HEALTH NEWS

  • Healthcare premiums in Arizona may rise significantly if federal subsidies are ended— a 60-year-old couple paying about $560 a month could face costs of over $2,000— and navigators will help residents shop for coverage when open enrollment begins Nov. 1.  KJZZ
