- ➤ Former ASU professor Omar Yaghi was named a Nobel Prize winner in chemistry on Wednesday for his work on metal organic frameworks that capture desert air moisture—he shared the honor with Susumu Kitagawa and Richard Robson. 12 News
- ➤ A report from Helios Education Foundation found that over 30% of Arizona high schoolers were chronically absent during the 2023-24 school year—missing at least 18 days, which is lower than during the pandemic but still above pre-pandemic levels. The report also showed that students in lower-income areas and those who are English-language learners, Native American, Black, or Hispanic missed more school. KJZZ

- ➤ The Mesa City Council approved a 33-month contract with Waxie Sanitary Supply to provide janitorial and sanitation supplies at about $350,000 per year for multiple city departments.
