Mesa Public Schools will add Propositions 419 and 420 to the Nov.

3 ballot, asking for $449 million for improvement projects, technology upgrades & student transportation, and to manage district properties. If neither passes, the district will use $28 million in state funds for emergency repairs across 82 schools.

Canyon Lake north of Apache Junction will lower its water level 54 feet for 16 weeks starting Sept.

16 for essential dam safety work + Tonto National Forest closed boat ramps and access points on Sept. 8 to protect public safety.

Maricopa County received a three-year, $1.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to expand workforce development services for incarcerated veterans; the county will add a veteran reintegration position and coordinate with partners such as the Sheriff's Office & Veterans Affairs.
