- ➤ A Mesa pottery business has partnered with Make-A-Wish Arizona this month as guests buy a $1 Wish Star at the store and the business matches every donation dollar for dollar to support children in need — the family-owned As You Wish Pottery is one of eight Valley locations and has worked with Make-A-Wish for 13 years. - ➤ Deandre Johnson was sentenced to over 17 years in prison for attempting to kill a DCS caseworker in Mesa by choking him and livestreaming the attack on Facebook—Mesa Police later arrested him after witnesses tried to stop the assault. Mesa Independent
