Parents protested on Tuesday at a Kyrene board meeting to oppose a proposal to close nine schools due to falling enrollment — they said the plan relies solely on numbers without considering each school's performance and community impact, and the board will discuss the proposal again on Sept. 16 before a final vote in December.
