- ➤ On August 12, the Mesa Design Review Board reviewed the design and landscaping for a new Valvoline Instant Oil Change facility located 500 feet south of East Elliot Road and South Power Road in Mesa — the 1,700-square-foot site in Avalon Ranch will include two service bays, a waiting area, restroom, office and support spaces, and the board noted the site is more than 213 feet from Power Road while Chair Dane Astle was absent. Construction details will be finalized before the facility opens. Mesa Independent
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Mesa’s only fully restored Victorian-era historic home, the Sirrine House at Center and 2nd, will be reimagined as a multi-use venue that offers urban farming, farm-to-table dining, and community events. The city, which bought the site in 1986, said construction will start in November or December with contract details expected soon—project funding comes from a voter-approved bond. East Valley Tribune
