  • On Aug. 6th, Mesa Board of Adjustment approved a special-use permit and reduced parking requirement for Project Aspire’s 292,000-square-foot pharmaceutical facility at 7236 E. Warner Road. The facility is planned for 500 workers and will use an alternative off-site parking plan—applicant Adam Baugh of Alex Hayes, Withey Morris Baugh PLC and owner HUB at 202 OWNCO LLC were involved.  Mesa Independent

CRIME NEWS

  • The Mesa Police Department is asking for help to find 17-year-old Lazariah McCarthy, who went missing on Aug. 7 near Higley Road and Southern Avenue in Mesa; she was last seen wearing a red jacket, black pants and red/white vans, has dyed blue and black hair, brown eyes, and stands 5 feet 6 inches tall, and anyone with information should call Mesa Police at 480-644-2211.  Mesa Independent

  • Ginger—a boxer rescued by Mesa resident Jackie Glasco—won the Barkademy Award for the Cutest category, making her one of five nationwide winners from Bark TV’s inaugural contest.  Mesa Independent

  • A.T. Still University in Mesa will start a three-day training program in November to help dentists, dental assistants and dental hygienists care for patients with special health care needs—this program is part of a partnership with Delta Dental of Arizona.  Mesa Independent
