  • The Australian Pink Floyd Show will perform its Wish You Were Here 50th Anniversary concert on Aug. 22 at Mesa Arts Center’s Ikeda Theater (located at 1 E. Main St.) with tickets starting at $74.50 (VIP seating is available).  Mesa Independent
  • Loathe, the UK band known for mixing heavy and ambient sounds, will open their fall tour with a show at the Nile Theater in Mesa on Oct. 21. The 25-date tour will visit Austin, Nashville, Brooklyn, Chicago, Seattle, and end in Anaheim with Trauma Ray and Spy supporting — tickets start with a Verizon presale on July 22 and general sales begin at 10 a.m. Friday, July 25.  Mesa Independent

ECONOMY NEWS

  • USDA ended its five-year commitment to help small- and mid-sized food and farm operations, leaving Arizona producers with $1.5 million (of the $4.1 million allocated) and missing out on millions in potential grants. Valley farmer Rodney Machokoto of Machokoto Family Farms said he planned to apply for a grant to enhance school partnerships but must now adjust his approach.  KJZZ

  • On July 22, Mesa Public Schools board voted 5—0 to renew its agreement with the Arizona Department of Education to continue school meal programs. The decision keeps the program active for students in the district—ensuring access to meals.  Mesa Independent
