- ➤ Hadrian is leasing 270,000 square foot at Mesa Gateway Airport to build Factory 3, an AI manufacturing and software hub that marks a $200 million investment and will add 350 high wage jobs — the company said it will be fully operational early next year while benefiting from Mesa’s tech and military access. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The eastbound lanes of Loop 202 reopened today near McKellips Road after ADOT closed the road due to a law enforcement situation. Mesa police said a PIT maneuver stopped a driver involved in a pursuit that began in Mesa + ADOT confirmed the roadway is fully clear. 12 News
- ➤ Mesa has begun work on several projects funded by a $260 million bond measure, including hiring a consultant for the Red Mountain Aquatic Center, designing a new 911 call center, and expanding its fiber network—city engineers have nearly finished designs for five playgrounds set to start construction in early fall while staff plan arts, culture, and public safety projects with community input on site and cost issues. City officials are also evaluating additional projects like a public safety communications center and an indoor recreation center as they work to balance new investments with maintaining existing facilities. - ➤ Arizona legislators have allocated $2 million to support planning for advanced air mobility that may lead to flying cars—this funding will help the Department of Transportation begin developing infrastructure plans next year. Sen. David Farnsworth from Mesa will hold weekly stakeholder meetings—focusing on vertiport projects to support safe, automated air travel in the future. 12 News
