  • A Tempe business has proposed a 21,211-square-foot aircraft hangar at Falcon Field Airport in Mesa—its look and landscaping will be reviewed at a July meeting of the Mesa Design Review Board.  Mesa Independent

  • Iranian superstar Farzad Farzin will perform on Aug 2 at 8:30 p.m. at the Ikeda Theater at Mesa Arts Center on Main St — tickets start at $70.50.  Mesa Independent

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Mesa Public Schools approved a $520-million operations budget and a $59-million capital budget while facing a $4M loss from frozen federal grants—administrators noted a future $21M Title 1 pause may further impact staff funding. The district will meet with the Arizona Department of Education on July 15 to plan for these fiscal challenges and discuss a one-time adjacent ways levy to raise $5M for infrastructure projects.  The Mesa Tribune
  • The Mesa City Council approved new zoning rules for data centers last week — rules designed to manage the growing impact of these facilities on nearby neighborhoods. Vice Mayor Scott Somers said the ordinance is the first step toward clearer design standards for business and residential developments.  KJZZ
