  • Child Crisis Arizona awarded a free pool fence to Candace Dyal and her family in Mesa as part of its fourth year Pool Fence Safety Program to safeguard children from drowning — the program has installed fences for six other families in Chandler, Apache Junction, and San Tan Valley over the past two weeks and partners with SRP, State Farm, and local firefighter charities.  Mesa Independent

BUSINESS NEWS

  • The Mesa business builder small business assistance program will reopen on July 8 for the 2025–26 program year after helping 151 local companies with free advising and consulting services last year—eligible businesses must have a valid Mesa address, be for-profit, and hold a Mesa license. Businesses can apply by logging in to Mesa HUUB and following the provided instructions for 1-on-1 support.  Mesa Independent

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The White House budget proposes cutting nearly 90% of federal funds for tribal colleges, including three in Arizona. Leaders warn that the drop—reducing funds to about $22 million—will force closures and hurt education for Native students.  KJZZ
