Good morning, Mesa.

A Mesa company that grew from swim lessons to training businesses on workplace safety has expanded its impact statewide — meanwhile, a longtime entertainment venue owned by a Mesa couple plans a multimillion-dollar overhaul, and Banner Health Center in East Mesa doubled in size to improve care.

Mesa Public Schools approved its proposed $515 million budget that starts July 1 to address a projected loss of 2,400 students and a decline of $11.3 million in state funding (made up by adjusted tax levies and necessary cuts).

A permit was approved to modify an existing group commercial center at the northwest corner of East Broadway and South Power roads in Mesa - the board's decision paves the way for planned updates to the facility.
