- ➤ Mesa City Council approved a ground lease agreement on June 2 for the 3.3-acre mixed-use project in downtown Mesa — the stalled development, once known as The Grid, faced delays from the pandemic and a bankruptcy filing and will now be led by Soltrust Main QOZB LLC. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Mesa police arrested two teenagers after a stolen vehicle chase near Power Road and Main Street ended with an officer shooting the driver in the hand on June 12 at about 4:45 p.m. (the teen driver sustained significant injuries while the teen passenger was unharmed) as Tempe Police Department investigates the incident. - ➤ Mesa City Council will consider a new series 7 beer and wine bar license for Pour Wine and Taproom at its meeting on Monday, June 16 at 5:45 p.m. at 20 E. Main St. (the license would let the taproom serve both beer and wine). Mesa Independent
- ➤ The Mesa City Council is considering a new series 12 restaurant license for Slick City Action Park, a family entertainment center in Mesa. Council members will vote on the license at a meeting at 5:45 p.m. Monday June 16 at 20 E.— Mesa Independent
