- ➤ The Mesa business builder small business assistance program wrapped up a successful year by helping 151 local businesses with free advising and consulting services and will reopen on July 8 for the 2025–26 program year; businesses with a valid Mesa address and license must register on Mesa HUUB + they may also access certificate programs at Mesa Community College. - ➤ A California law firm filed a lawsuit claiming that Fairlife did not stop buying milk from two local dairies after video recordings showed milk was moved at night and animals were mistreated — actions that led to an investigation by the Arizona Department of Agriculture. The suit says private investigators recorded milk trucks moving from the dairies to processing plants between mid-March and May, a practice the plaintiffs call deceptive and fraudulent. 12 News
- ➤ Dink & Dine Pickle Park will open on July 30 at Mesa Riverview shopping center this summer and will have 13 pickleball courts, dining spots, an outdoor park, and an events space—its buildout should finish by mid-July. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality will conduct PFAS tests at groundwater sites in Tucson, Phoenix, Mesa, Lake Havasu and Prescott after initial detections last fall. The tests will check for harmful chemicals like PFOA, PFOS and GenX—used in items such as nonstick pans and firefighting foam—to determine why levels exceed new limits. KJZZ

- ➤ Mesa is urging residents to prepare for sudden monsoon storms that can quickly cause power outages, downed trees and flooded streets by checking on elderly and homebound neighbors.
