GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Arizona Department of Transportation said a dust detection system along I-10 had a 10-minute delay in sending data to the National Weather Service—officials are working with the agency to fix the issue. KJZZ
- ➤ Mesa City Council approved a $2.79 billion budget for fiscal 2025/2026 that invests in enhanced public safety and core services — including two new fire stations in Lehi and Hawes Crossing and an expanded Real Time Crime Center. The budget takes effect July 1 and will also add support for Mesa Fire and Medical operations. Mesa Now
- ➤ Mesa Police Headquarters at 130 N. Robson started a 20-month renovation today following a brick-breaking ceremony—this project will replace old systems and improve both staff and public areas. During construction, police employees will be moved to other locations, and residents needing help can visit nearby sub-stations until the remodel is finished in early 2027. Mesa Now
