- ➤ For 13 years, Mesa Urban Garden at 212 E, First Ave. has been a hub for local residents and volunteers to grow food plus its long-term future remains uncertain. Mesa Independent
- ➤ Salt River Tubing will operate on the Lower Salt River seven days a week through Monday, Sept. 7 if conditions allow and then run Friday-Sunday through Sept. 27. The center, just off Loop 202 East on North Power Road, will host events on Saturday, June 13 & Saturday, June 27. Mesa Independent

- ➤ Eastmark High School in Mesa hosted a student-led event (Flying with the Firebirds) to help sixth graders get ready for middle school next year; school students shared tips to ease the big transition. Mesa Independent

- ➤ A Yale poll released yesterday shows most respondents support using public lands for solar and wind energy, with 74% approval in Arizona and 75% nationally for renewable projects over drilling and mining. The findings highlight a gap between public sentiment and federal policy. KJZZ

- ➤ Eligible SRP customers may apply for Power AZ, a state program launched in March that gives $160 to $640 monthly help and a one-time crisis payment of $500 to households earning up to 100% of the state median income, with Resource Counselors available (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). 12 News
