  • Registration for youth summer camps at Mesa Arts Center, 1 E. Main St., has begun — the camps offer arts classes from blacksmithing and jewelry-making to comics and ceramics — and one camp, clay monster madness for ages 9-12 from June 17th to 27th, will provide all materials.  Mesa Independent

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Mayor Mark Freeman said in his first State of the City address last week that he will focus on public safety and water security while building on a family legacy that helped found Mesa—he noted that investments including a $90-million bond for emergency services and the Central Mesa Reuse Pipeline project will secure the city’s future.  The Mesa Tribune

  • Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central and Northern Arizona provides free lodging, meals and emotional support to families facing tough medical challenges during Family Wellness Month. Studies show that keeping families together helps children recover faster — in 2024, more than 1,100 families stayed at its centers to remain close to their hospitalized children.  Mesa Independent
