  • Lucid bought a Nikola manufacturing site in Coolidge and a development center in the Valley after Nikola filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month. The company will hire about 300 former Nikola employees to strengthen its local electric vehicle production.  KJZZ

CRIME NEWS

  • The Mesa Police Department reported nine robberies of individuals from April 17 to 23 including one incident at 9:26 p.m. on April 17 along a highway/road/alley/sidewalk—further details are pending investigation.  Mesa Independent

  • Danielle Wood is a ceramics artist and teacher in the Valley who uses ocean-inspired forms to create abstract sculptures despite living in the desert—she blends her background in painting with a passion for coral reef textures.  KJZZ
  • Mesa's Neon Garden will open May 15 at 7 p.m. behind The Post at 26 N. Macdonald as a new outdoor space displaying six restored neon signs from the 1940s to 1970s, and the project is a partnership between the City and the Mesa Preservation Foundation + it aims to bring the city's vibrant history to life for residents and visitors.  Mesa Now
