- ➤ Higley High School Air Force JROTC cadet Captain Connor Hyde was honored by the Desert Wells Chapter of the DAR for his strong academics and leadership; he maintained a 4.00 GPA and led his drill team to national success, earning the DAR Bronze JROTC Medal. East Valley Tribune
- ➤ The East Valley Institute of Technology and Mesa Public Schools announced a new welding campus that will open in July at Skyline High School at 845 S. Crismon Road. The program will fast-track students to entry-level welding jobs and apprenticeships in local industries. Mesa Independent
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Local water officials and Mesa joined 22 partners in a $33 million study to review options for boosting Bartlett Reservoir's storage capacity.
