- ➤ Walmart is adding EV charging stations across Arizona, including seven locations in our Phoenix metro area. The ABB A400 fast chargers (up to 400 kW) allow two vehicles to charge at once and are accessible only via the Walmart app. KJZZ
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Mesa teacher Serena Lederer was surprised with a $5,000 grant (awarded by SRP Corporate Giving) in her classroom at Westwood High School; she will ask her students for input on how to use the funds for projects in personal finance and conservation. Mesa Independent
- ➤ Mesa Public Library received a $15,000 grant from the Urban Libraries Council as part of the Civic Makers Lab for Adults initiative + the funding helps librarians facilitate civic learning and empower young adults ages 18-24 to contribute to their community. Mesa Independent

- ➤ A new water management plan signed by Arizona, California & Nevada aims to reduce harsh cuts for the Central Arizona Project by increasing water available to about 820,000 acre-feet and supporting reservoirs through 2028. Officials said the proposal could help avoid severe shortages and legal disputes. KJZZ
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Officials are investigating 42 possible heat-related deaths after a March heatwave may have caused up to 28 cases, including one confirmed on March 20 when temperatures reached 105 degrees.
