ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices averaged $4.176 per gallon Tuesday (a 15-cent rise from last week), and Mesa drivers may see further increases as rates continue to climb.  12 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • K-8 STEM Academy Red Mountain students are testing Sphero robots donated by DoorDash—Mesa’s tech partner—in an after-school club to design food delivery robots. They run obstacle courses that mirror delivery trials on Mesa bike paths while offering creative solutions for real-world technology.  ABC15 Arizona
  • The state House approved an early version of a bill that would require K-12 gun safety classes teaching students what to do if they see a firearm. The curriculum will be built by the Departments of Education, Public Safety and Game and Fish as the bill awaits a final vote.  KJZZ

HEALTH NEWS

  • AT Still University-School of Osteopathic Medicine ranks second nationally for primary care graduates (47.1% in primary care, 10.1% in rural areas, and 31.9% in shortage areas) according to the U.S. News and World Reports 2026 Best Medical Schools list; Dean Sharon Obadia said she is thrilled about this recognition.  Mesa Independent
