- ➤ New cholesterol guidelines released Friday now recommend all adults receive a one-time lipoprotein(a) test to better assess heart disease risk. Mesa health providers may soon offer the test and earlier treatments such as statins to help prevent heart attacks and strokes. KJZZ

- ➤ Developers plan two new hotels totaling 600 rooms at the Palo District site in west Mesa. A 400-room hotel with a chef-driven restaurant and meeting spaces and a 200-room extended stay option will support sports, tourism and healthcare needs, with openings expected in early 2028.
