  • The Queen Creek, Chandler, Gilbert and Mesa chambers will host the 2026 Regional Business and Education Summit (The Workforce Imperative: Challenges and Opportunities Across Sectors) on Friday at a local venue. The summit will feature Arizona Town Hall and The Waters Center for Systems Thinking to address workforce needs.  Mesa Independent

CULTURE NEWS

  • Arizona Baseball Museum opened Feb. 21 in Mesa to share baseball's history with photos, memorabilia, rotating exhibits, and personal stories. Housed in a historic building that once served as a WPA auditorium (also a Cold War bomb shelter), it highlights the deep local ties to the game.  KJZZ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Mesa's Engineering Department is guiding sixth graders at Crismon Elementary School (825 W. Medina Ave.) in its annual Bridge Building Competition for National Engineering Week. The competition concludes tomorrow at 10 a.m. with an awards ceremony at 12:15 p.m.  Mesa Now
  • News Point Academy, a tuition-free public charter high school, will open in fall 2026 at Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa and will serve only ninth and tenth graders initially with plans to expand into a full four-year program.  Mesa Independent
