- ➤ A bill sponsored by Rep Nick Kupper proposes to bar public school libraries from using state funds for professional association dues to keep library services politically neutral. The proposal was reviewed by the House Committee on Education on Jan. 20 & could limit access to professional development if enacted. The Mesa Tribune
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes reached a settlement with Heritage Village Assisted Living in Mesa that permanently bars its owners from providing health care services to vulnerable adults — the facility owners must also pay $100,000 in civil penalties as ordered by the court on Thursday. - ➤ Two new measles cases were confirmed in Maricopa County, including one with no known exposure. Health officials identified exposure sites in Gilbert (Target and EOS Fitness on Jan. 13, Sam’s Club on Jan. 15) and urge residents to monitor symptoms and seek testing if needed. 12 News
