- ➤ The Legislature sent Gov. Hobbs a bill last week to conform state tax rules to most federal changes in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act but the governor vetoed it, citing objections to some provisions. Without a clear agreement soon, tax forms and software may face last-minute changes that will affect residents filing later this year. KJZZ
- ➤ On Jan. 22, state regulators held a public hearing where locals challenged APS’s proposed 14% rate hike that would add about $20 monthly, while APS defends the increase as needed for operating costs and grid maintenance; additional hearings will be held through May. KJZZ
