  • Mesa will host community events to honor Martin Luther King Jr. this month (including volunteer drives and commemorative programs) as organizers build on his legacy of unity and justice.  Mesa Independent
  • Four Mesa firefighters lost to cancer and several others will be honored today at 10 a.m. at Wesley Bolin Plaza in Phoenix — a memorial service for firefighters and paramedics recognizing their lifelong service, officials said.  Mesa Independent

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Mesa Public Schools anticipates a nearly 25% enrollment drop by 2035-36, falling from 51,093 to 39,196 students which will reduce state funding by about $18 million and lead to 2,400 fewer students next school year. The district will repurpose campuses & review staffing to address market changes.  The Mesa Tribune
