  • Mesa’s annual Historic Home Tour will take place on Saturday, Jan. 17 in the Golden Hills neighborhood. The tour highlights the Ponderosa II (a replica of the Bonanza ranch house) with $30 timed-entry tickets available online until 4 p.m. on Jan. 16, including a shuttle from Jefferson Recreation Center.  Mesa Now
  • Mesa's Silver Star Theater is set to host the Country Music Celebration this season with vibrant country performances led by Gilbert's Chad Freeman. The dinner shows run on Jan. 17, 25; Feb. 13, 27; and March 13, 22 at 7 p.m., blending nostalgic hits with a Vegas-like flair.  The Mesa Tribune

ECONOMY NEWS

  • California plans to shut a Bay Area refinery by April, a move that could push up fuel prices and lead to tighter supplies for Mesa and other western communities. Experts say state officials are looking at fuel resiliency measures + infrastructure solutions to ease potential supply problems.  KJZZ

HEALTH NEWS

  • Federal health officials dropped vaccines including flu, RSV, and rotavirus from routine recommendations for all kids on Monday, Jan. 6, advising these shots only for high risk children. Mesa pediatricians said the change will likely not affect local immunization practices as they continue to follow national clinical guidelines.  KJZZ
