Join Vicky Derksen for an intimate evening as we explore the November Cross-Quarter Day- the astronomical midpoint between the Fall Equinox and Winter Solstice – through the unique lens of the Sonoran Desert. We’ll share a dinner featuring locally sourced ingredients and fire-cooked elements in celebration of the season. Through campfire storytelling, we’ll journey across prominent constellations with a laser-guided tour of the stars and telescope viewing. This unique gathering honors the region’s cultural celebration of Día de los Muertos as we gather to commune under a beautiful night sky. This experience blends science-based astronomy, desert ecology, and seasonal celebration to offer a meaningful connection to both the desert and the season.
